Ada Okere is an interdisciplinary artist and writer based in Detroit, Michigan, USA. Her work is informed by a strong urge to strengthen the mind-body connection. A first generation Nigerian-American, her early experiences were marked by patriarchal influence. She draws on this influence to advocate for female autonomy both inside and outside the home.

Through workshops (in-person & virtual), contributed articles, and physical exercise, Ada seeks to empower individuals to embrace their personal power and live authentically.

Along with writing, image-making plays a central role in her creative practice. She uses visual storytelling to explore themes of identity, resilience, and the push-and-pull of cultural expectations. Her work has been published in numerous books and magazines including The National Poetry Society of America and The Whitney Review.

Ada graduated from the College for Creative Studies (CCS) in 2024 with a BFA in Art Practice (previously Fine Arts) and is a recipient of the Nancy Prophet Scholarship Award (2024) and the Matilda Wilson Fine Art Scholarship (2023).
