Digital Invitation
A birthday celebration turned creative production, WET was Inspired by the vibrant and carefree spirit of the 2010s.
2024
Everyone dreams of the day they turn 21.
Unfortunately for me, that special day was overshadowed by global events.
I turned 21 in March 2020 just as then-President Donald Trump announced the first major lockdown in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead of celebrating with the energy and abandon synonymous with early adulthood, I, along with an entire generation, faced a moment where our rites of passage were put on hold.
My mother always said: time stopped for no one. And at 25 I realized that wasn’t entirely true. Because of COVID— time had stopped. Not literally of course, but in the sense that life as we knew it was put on pause. Milestones were delayed, traditions were disrupted, and the natural rhythm of growing up was thrown off course.
Four years later, WET emerged as an opportunity to celebrate life before it slipped away.
Here’s the rundown:
When I started planning, my vision was simple: hire as many of my friends as possible.
The greatest part about being a creative person is the small army of brilliant geniuses just casually in your orbit.
I wanted to tap into the abundance of crazy talented people around me because beyond the fact that a party isn’t a party without friends, it was important to me that this celebration extend beyond just myself.
